It took me awhile to come back to this place. Partially this was due to training but also because I knew it’d be a tough sight to see after the kind of devastation wreaked by the recent Wolsey Fire in Calabasas, CA. Working across the street from these trails, I at least had a sense of what I was in for.
On a positive note, I saw many traces of skat (technical term for wild animal poo) and recent rain has coated much of the fire-blackened soil in a short coat of green grass sprouts. Soon new life will join in and I can’t wait for spring to bring the return of the all the critters I enjoyed the company of!
